  Nick Diaz Is to Blame, But So Are Meaningless Commission Marijuana Tests�

  

  Let's establish two facts from the outset. First, Nick Diaz's use of marijuana to the extent it produced a positive drug test result is irresponsible. Second, the urinalysis test regarding marijuana consumption used by athletic commissions (ostensibly) designed to protect the health and safety of fighters does neither and is little more than kabuki theater.

  Dan Henderson Notifies UFC of Heavyweight Hankering�

  

  Dan Henderson (Pictured) ended his 28-month Octagon hiatus in thrilling fashion with his instant classic against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 139. Following November’s unanimous decision victory, Henderson was hoping for an immediate shot at Jon Jones’ light heavyweight crown.

  Unfortunately for Hendo, Rashad Evans cemented his top contender status last month leaving Henderson to play the waiting game. However, the 41-year-old has no intention of riding the pine forever and is willing to hop divisions if a blockbuster bout presents itself.

  “I don’t know what the plan is, but I’d fight whoever it is they think would be a good match-up [at 205 pounds],” Henderson told ESPN.com. “The problem is there’s really nobody right now who fits the bill for a title contention fight, that would make sense to fight me. I don’t know.

  “Maybe I’d fight at a different weight class. I don’t know if they see anybody at heavyweight that would make sense? But I would prefer to fight someone in April or May.”

  Prior to beating Shogun, Henderson knocked out Fedor Emelianenko in his final fight under Strikeforce’s banner. Although the shootout was a heavyweight affair, Henderson weighed in at only 207 pounds.

  If he does decide to temporarily swap weight classes, Henderson is unsure which 265-pounder he’d like to meet.

  “I’d have to think about that,” Henderson said. “I don’t know who at heavyweight would even make sense. The heavyweights that are in title contention right now wouldn’t want to fight me. I don’t know who is out there, but I did let the UFC know I’d be open to that as well.”

  In a wide-ranging late-night chat with his Twitter followers, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta confirmed several pieces of news, including plans to book Cain Velasquez vs. Frank Mir and Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin.

  Fertitta, who has more than 76,000 followers on his verified Twitter account, said late Thursday night that he'd answer questions from fans.   Fertitta: Champ Dos Santos vs. Overeem targeted for UFC 146 in Las Vegas�

  UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos will likely make his first title defense on May 26 in Las Vegas.
  
  That's according to UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta, who made the announcement overnight in a rare extended session of Twitter chat with fans.

  Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber Rekindle Rivalry on Twitter�

  

  In one month, UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber (Pictured) will have the opportunity to enjoy each others company for the next 13 consecutive weeks. However, “The Ultimate Fighter 15″ coaches couldn’t help but rekindle their rivalry Thursday night on Twitter.

  It all started when Cruz referenced an interview where “The California Kid” claimed he would take his arch nemesis in the upcoming edition of TUF and inside the Octagon once the season wraps.

  Cruz’s buddy and Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker, even got in on a little bit of the action.
