San Diego Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is one of the best in the game at his position. Not only can he hit 40-plus home runs in a place like Petco Park, but he's also won two Gold Gloves for his defensive work at first base. He's also pretty cheap, as he's scheduled to make only $4.75 million in 2010.Which is likely the only reason the former No. 1 pick is still playing in his hometown of San Diego. Gonzalez has a club option on his contract for $5.5 million in 2011, but once he hits free agency he's likely to command a contract similar to what Mark Teixeira got in 2009, which is why his agent, John Boggs, seems confident the Padres will trade Gonzalez before then.
